In 2007, Jean-François Flechet returned from his native Belgium with a 120 lbs cast iron waffle maker to introduce the people of Cincinnati to the waffles he cherished as a child. Waffle baking began in the back of a produce store at Cincinnati’s historic Findlay Market. After crowding the store for weeks, he was asked to find a new home and Taste of Belgium was born. Now with seven bistro locations across Greater Cincinnati, a food truck and the original Findlay Market stand, Taste of Belgium has become a local favorite.
